The third week of May was a big one for the Walker fam! In the span of a few days, Annalise had her last day of three year preschool, finished up gymnastics at Blue Valley Rec, and had her spring dance recital.
I forced Adam to take a few pics before AL's last day of school, and they actually turned out great!
It was a bit sunny, but we had to take the obligatory "by the preschool sign" pics for comparison to the first day of school.
Annalise adored her teachers this year. Mrs. Holsapple and Mrs. Bell made Annalise's homeroom such a fun and happy place. And I cannot even count the number of mornings that started off a bit sour but were turned around by Mrs. Jaeger getting Annalise out of our car in the drop-off lane. These ladies are the best!
We probably aren't heading to the Olympics in 2030, but Annalise sure loves gymnastics. Her spunk and fearlessness definitely make her a force on the mat!
While Mondays in 2016 were for gymnastics, Wednesdays were for dance. Annalise was lucky to be in a class of incredibly sweet girls, and I enjoyed getting to know the other "dance moms" along the way. Annalise's number for the big spring recital was "Me and My Teddy." Our ballerina loved to practice for us at home, and it is safe to say that we all could sing the song in our sleep at this point! :) Here she is at her dress rehearsal.
She is only four, but (why not?) we went all out for her recital day...pics on the porch, flowers, even a touch of makeup. The lip gloss was her fave! The grandparents came to show their support, including G&G Ahillen all the way from St. Louis. Annalise and her classmates handled the pressure of the big stage and bright lights like champs. No one cried or ran off, and everyone generally executed the dance moves that Miss Marilyn had taught them. We're calling it a win! I think Annalise had a ball, and, as a mom, it certainly was fun to watch. :)
