Faux Napa

Adam visited St. Louis this weekend, and the fam went to Napa Saturday!  No, not really, but just outside St. Louis are some scenic wineries that we wanted to visit again before the big move.  Since it has been topping out over 100 degrees for the past several weeks, we went before lunch and stayed in the shade.  Hey, it's five o'clock somewhere, right?

 

We were surprised there weren't many people there... so few we didn't have anyone to take a picture of all of us.  If I was smarter, I would have photo shopped these together.  : (

When Adam first held Annalise, she stuck out a fat lower lip.  Ahhh!  Did she forget her daddy?

Once the bottle came out, they were buds again!  (What a cute little Jayhawk.)

Adam wasn't there to help with Annalise's first real food, and he looked forward to giving it a try...

Who needs milk?

Looks like my girl is growing up without me!  Mommy sent this video of her taking her first bites of real food.  Daddy and Martini are in KC, so they can't get in on the fun.  I hope it makes for some stinky poops for mommy.     : )


As far as I can tell, Jackie and Annalise do a lot of eaten' and sittin' around.  (J/K, wifey.)

Adam got a great job opportunity about a month before the family was ready to move from St. Louis to KC, so he took it!  This meant sucking up his pride and moving into his parents basement.  Lucky for all, it was for a predetermined time period.  The downside is Daddy and Martini only get to watch Annalise grow up electronically.

I'm pretty sure Jackie asked Annalise if she had anything to say to daddy...  Watch the video below to find out if she did!

Happy Birthday, America!

One thing we will certainly miss about our St. Louis home is watching fireworks from our deck.  Our house is located in Manchester, Missouri, but borders Valley Park, Missouri.  Googlemaps even thinks we live in Valley Park... which angers Jackie to no end.  Alas, one thing we can count on from our barefoot neighbors is a great fireworks show.  While most cities in St. Louis were canceling their fireworks displays due to the heat and dry conditions, Valley Park went gangbusters on July third!  Strangely, previous years, it has been on July fifth and other dates, but I don't think it has ever been on the fourth.  It's always a great surprise.  We are always ready to run out to the deck the whole first week of July at the first sound of booms from outside.  Annalise seemed to watch and enjoy them, while Martini kept an eye out for neighborhood threats.  Hopefully, we get an encore tonight...  Was that a boom???

Pool Party!

What do you do when it's over 100 degrees?  Have a pool party, of course!  This means daddy needs to stand in an oven (the garage) to inflate an overpriced kiddie pool with an air compressor, then he will need to get out a hose and finagle it up onto the deck, all for 5 minutes of fun.  Yahtzee!

 

 Mommy got in on the fun, while daddy documented and sweated through his shirt.
