"Taking Annalise to the dentist was the highlight of my weekend!" I never thought those words would come out of my mouth, but they did. Moreover, they were actually true! A few weekends back, Annalise had a dental checkup with Dr. LeBlanc. Our previous visits had been fairly low-key, with most of the time spent getting acquainted with the dentist's office and about thirty seconds spent opening her mouth. This time was different! Apparently, now that Annalise has turned two, she gets the full dental experience. To my delight and relief, our little girl was on her best behavior.
Things got off to a good start in the X-ray chair. Annalise wore the special vest and even tolerated the bite wings!
The hygienist won her over with a stuffed animal and sunglasses, the latter to shield her eyes from the bright exam lights. (What a great idea for kids, huh?!)
This was followed by fruity toothpaste, floss, and a brief encounter with those sharp and shiny dental instruments. Annalise was handsomely rewarded with a balloon and a big goodie bag.
Interestingly, as soon as we got home, the only thing that she wanted to play with was her new purple princess toothbrush. She must have been listening closely to Dr. LeBlanc!
I can only hope that our next visit to the dentist goes half as smoothly as this one! :)
